The Sitaram bagh temple is in the center of Hyderabad city, located in Magalhat. This temple has been granted as a Heritage monument by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage.
History:
Sita Ram Bagh temple was built by Puranmal Ganeriwala in 1833. The 200-year-old temple, is a combination of Mughal, European and Rajasthani design of construction. It was built in 25 acres. There is a 20 foot tall compound around the temple. The main idols of the temple, Lord Rama and Sita devi are made of marble. These idols were brought from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Rajagopuram has a balcony with European features. Sri Rama Navami, hanuman jayanthi etc festivals are celebrated in a great manner.
The main sanctum sanctorum enshrines the marble images of Lord Ram and Sita. There are also shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman, Goddess Lakshmi and Varadarajaswamy within the complex.
The temple has won Indian NGO for Art and Cultural Heritage award in year 2001.
