Jainath Laxmi Narayana Swami admin, January 12, 2020July 25, 2020 It is located in Jainath, a small rural hamlet situated 30 kilometers from the district headquarters of Adilabad. The temple has a prakrit stone inscription depicting the 20 slokas which establishes that it was constructed by the Pallava chief. The temple boasts of impressive features resembling the Jain style of temple architecture. The village gets the name from the famous temple which is an abode of Lord Lakshmi Narayana Swami. Every year from October-November Laxmi Narayana Swami Bhramotsavalu is held from Karthika Sudda Astami to Bahula Saptami attracting a large number of devotees. The Pallava kings were believed to have accorded royal patronage for this village. The temple’s historical signifance is gauged from the different verses and inscriptions on rocks. Adilabad town is situated at a distance of 320 Kms which takes six hours by road from Hyderabad, from where it takes another 21 Kms and another thirty minutes of travel to reach Jainath temple. Since it is a village there is no accommodation available, but one can find decent hotels for stay in Adilabad. Architecture wise it is located on a platform which is two feet high. The Lord’s idol in the sanctum sanctorum is six-feet tall and is made entirely of black stone. The temple and the surroundings are getting a face lift with tourism development activities undertaken by the state government to connect it with other places of interest in Adilabad district and North Telangana.
